A new social environment pushes Hugo to confront attraction, anxiety, identity, and belonging all at once.

The Veil follows Hugo as he ventures into the college social scene and unexpectedly finds himself drawn to a man at a party. What begins as a new and uncertain social experience quickly becomes much more emotionally intense when a panic attack sends him spiraling.

As tensions rise and his sense of belonging is challenged, Hugo is forced to question how he sees himself and whether he is ready for the social world he is trying to enter. An unexpected altercation pushes those questions even further, turning the experience into a confrontation with identity, vulnerability, and readiness for connection.

My role

I played Hugo, the lead character at the center of the film.

  1. Lead Actor

Hugo's internal conflict has to remain visible even when he is trying to function normally in a social setting.

The role centers on a character entering an unfamiliar social environment while processing attraction, anxiety, and a changing sense of identity. That creates a performance that has to shift from openness and curiosity into physical panic and emotional uncertainty without losing the continuity of the character.

As Hugo's sense of belonging becomes more unstable, the performance becomes increasingly reactive. The social pressure, panic attack, and later altercation all build on one another, making his uncertainty part of both the emotional and physical progression of the film.
